Aerial and satellite imagery
The satellite view of the apps shows Esri World Imagery worldwide. Where mapping agencies publish aerial images as open data, our own server lays them on top; when Esri cannot be reached and without a connection, our server supplies Copernicus Sentinel-2 satellite imagery. We change the open images technically: they are reprojected, cut into tiles, compressed and joined at borders. The sources and their licences:
Satellite imagery worldwide
Powered by Esri. World Imagery: Esri, Vantor, GeoEye, Earthstar Geographics, CNES/Airbus DS, USDA, USGS, AeroGRID, IGN, and the GIS User Community. Used under the terms of the ArcGIS Location Platform; your device loads the imagery directly from Esri, we do not store it.
