Delete your account

Two Wheels Apart by Julian Henke

This page explains how to delete your account in the Two Wheels Apart app (iOS and Android, developer: Julian Henke) and which data is deleted.

In the app (fastest)

  • Open Two Wheels Apart and sign in.
  • Go to Profile, tap the gear icon and choose “Info and privacy”.
  • Scroll down, tap “Delete my account” and confirm with “Delete everything for good”.
  • Your account is deleted immediately and permanently. If your phone is set to German, the app says “Info und Datenschutz”, “Mein Konto löschen” and “Alles endgültig löschen”.

    Without the app

If you can no longer use the app, email support@twowheelsapart.com with the subject “Delete my account”. Write from the email address of your account, or tell us your username and that address. To make sure nobody deletes someone else’s account, we may ask you to confirm the request from that address. We then delete the account without undue delay, at the latest within one month, and confirm it to you.

    What is deleted

Your account, all profile data and your profile photo, every spot you created (including archived copies of deleted spots), your photos, comments and likes, your shared tracks and expeditions, your border crossing reports, your host profile, stay requests and references, your feedback, your location, your saved spots, likes, blocks and reports, the record of your consent to the terms, the Pro purchase records on our server and every message you were part of, for both sides of the conversation.

If you signed in with Google, you can also remove Two Wheels Apart from the connected apps in your Google account settings.

Deleting your account does not cancel a Two Wheels Apart Pro subscription. Cancel it in the subscription settings of your Apple account or in Google Play under “Payments & subscriptions”.

What is kept, and for how long

  • Copies in our nightly backups: overwritten within 15 days.
  • Server logs (IP address, time, address requested): deleted after 15 days at the latest.
  • Crash and performance reports the app sent: they stay without any link to your account and are deleted 90 days after they were sent.
  • A border crossing you added to the map stays there, without any link to you.
  • Emails you sent us, including a deletion request and our confirmation: kept only as long as needed to handle the request and to show that we carried it out, unless the law requires us to keep them longer (for example business letters).
  • Google Play and Apple keep their own records of purchases under their own terms; we keep no copy.
  • Data that exists only on your phone (tracks you never shared, recorded rides, offline maps) is not on our server. It goes when you delete it in the app or uninstall the app.
  • Deleting only some data

You do not have to delete your account to remove data. In the app you can switch off location sharing, delete spots, photos, comments, shared tracks and expeditions, and pause or end hosting at any time. To have archived copies of deleted spots erased, or for anything else, email us at the address above. More details are in the Privacy Policy.
